We have the Safety First Ready Set Walker. My 6 month old son LOVES it because it gives him some freedom to move about. The sounds and music are familiar songs that I actually know and like. The other day I noticed that it wasn’t playing any of the tunes any more. I looked at it and there was no obvious place to access a battery compartment.
This sent me on a mission to figure out how to fix the sounds.
After some research, I found the user manual (which was useless), a bunch of listings where I could buy it and even went to the safety first website. I finally found my answer in the questions on the Amazon listing… It said the batteries were not replaceable.
That couldn’t be right. It surely has to run on some kind of battery. I wasn’t giving up and have now successfully replaced the batteries! It was easy-peesy!
Below are the instructions 🙂
REQUIRED:
- Small screwdriver
- 4-LR44 button batteries*
- 10-15 minutes
*I purchased my batteries off eBay. Get a 10 pack. It’s a better buy.
INSTRUCTIONS
The walker has a removable toy attachment. It comes off so that there can be a snack tray area for your baby. You must first remove that. It takes a little muscle but just work it a little at a time.
After the toy attachment is removed, turn it upside down.
With 2 fingers push in the 4 little clips (2 at a time) to remove the little toy. Work it gently off. (Video below)
Once that is off, turn the toy upside down and you will see 4 screws. Unscrew all 4 to reveal the 4 button batteries.
Replace the button batteries with the new ones and put it back together.
That’s it! All new again!
Oh my gosh!! I’ve been scouring the internet for this!! Thank you so much! I can’t wait to see my granddaughter’s reaction.
I’m so glad you found it for your granddaughter! =)
What a miracle!!
Thank you for posting this!!
You are welcome =) Glad it helped you!
Thank you !
You’re welcome =)
Oh my goodness, thank you so much! I’m amazed that Safety 1st doesn’t include these instructions. I’ve got it taken apart, ordered the batteries and will wait to install them! Thanks again! It takes a ingenious woman.
I’m so glad you found the instructions helpful. =)
I found a 4-pk of these batteries at Dollar Tree!!
🙂
Good to know! =) Thanks for sharing. My dollar tree is hit or miss on the batteries.
Ours never came with batteries that worked
Thank you soooo much for sharing this info with us!! But what is the trick to pushing those 4 clips through? I’ve been struggling with that part for two days now 🙁
Wow… that was 4 years ago and apparently I mentioned a video in the blog but it never made it’s way here. I worked them 2 at a time from what I can recall.
Hi Carrie, You are in luck!! I actually managed to find the video showing how I pushed the clips through and I added it to the post. =)
Lady, you rock! With your advice, I took the whole noisemaker apart and found the batteries, replaced all 4 and it’s back to playing those annoying songs! These 2 grandparents will be heroes.
That’s awesome! Glad I could help you be heroes! 🙂
Does that green ring come off the red knob?
No it doesn’t come off that I am aware of.
